1.Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Engineering Entrance exam 2007

One of the most renowned Universities in India, Aligarh Muslim University offers over two hundred and fifty courses to Indian and foreign students. Pattern of Test

AMU Engineering Entrance Exam Procedure

· Applicants may send a demand draft along with a requisition letter to the Assistant Controller (Admissions), Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, 202 002
· The draft of Rs.100 payable at State Bank of India should be drawn in favor of “the Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh.
· The candidates should also send an envelope (self-addressed) along with a postage (Rs.90) to the above-mentioned office address.
· The duly filled in application form and a draft should be sent to the Admission Section, Office of the Controller of Examination and admissions, AMU, Aligarh.
· The drafts to be prepared for B.Tech and B.Arch courses are Rs.250 and Rs.400 respectively.
· The name of the course should be properly written on the request letter.

2.Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Entrance Exams

If you are interested in pursuing engineering in Arunachal Pradesh, you can appear for the NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE). It is organized by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology for admission to various programs. You can apply for a certificate (base), degree or diploma course after cracking Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Entrance Exams or NEE, to be precise. The exam can be taken in 3 levels- NEE- I, NEE- II or NEE- III, depending on whether you seek admission in the Base, Diploma or Degree Module of your Engineering course.

Application Procedure for Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Entrance Exams

· You can collect the application form as well as the information brochure from the main branch of Vijaya Bank in the capital of a state or Union territory, or the main Post Office in the district headquarters of all the North Eastern States by paying Rs 100 for each form.
· The form can also be collected at the Directorate of Higher/Technical Education situated in the N.E States.
· You can also download the form and the brochure from the website of NERIST.
· Completed application forms should be sent by post. With an application, you should also send the exam fee of Rs 650 as a crossed D.D drawn in favor of ‘Director, NERIST’ and payable at State Bank of India, Nirjuli.
· If you download the application form as well as the brochure, you need to send Rs 750 along with the completed form.
· The filled-in form along with the admit card and all other essential enclosures, need to be mailed to Member Secretary (NEE), North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and technology, P.O. Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh, Pin- 791109
· If a form is not properly filled up, or does not have the demand draft attached with it or is received late, it can be canceled.

Eligibility for taking NEE:

· NEE-I: You should pass Class X exam or an equivalent one with science and Maths as your subject of study. You also need to pass in both Maths and Science. If you are awaiting your results of Class X exam, you can also appear for the test.
· NEE-II: The candidate needs to pass Class XII with PCM or PCMB. You can also apply if you have studied a vocational course in Electronics, Farm Machinery & Equipment, Electrical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automobile technology or Computer Science at your 10+ 2 level. You can also be eligible if you have NERIST certificate (E&T).
NEE-III: If you have a Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering or Mechanical engineering or even in their allied branches, you can appear for this test. You need to have 60% marks in aggregate or in the diploma module of NERIST. You can also apply if you are appearing in the final year of your diploma course.

3.Assam Engineering Entrance Exams

Introduction Director of Technical Education conducts Joint Admission Test (JAT) for admission to Ist year of BE course to the two State Govt. Engineering Colleges i.e. Assam Engineering College, Guwahati; Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat and Regional Engineering College, Silchar (Assam quota). Eligibility: Hr. Sec. Examination (12 years) from Assam Hr. Sec. Education Council or an equivalent examination with PCM, and English securing at least 50% marks in aggregate in PCM in one sitting are eligible.



The pattern of Test: JAT comprises of 3 papers of 3 hours duration having a question in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry of 100 marks each of the standard of the qualifying examination. The medium of the Test is English. Aptitude Test has been prescribed for the candidates applying for admission to B.Arch.

 

4.ATIT 2008

ATIT is conducted by the Icfai Institute of Science and Technology. The entrance exam is taken for the admission of students to the B.Tech programs offered by the institution. Bhubaneswar, Bangalore, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Dehradun are the five Icfai Institute of Science and Technology campuses. The program offered is of 5 years full-time duration. ATIT 2008 will be held on 4th May, Sunday at selected 92 centers of examination. ATIT Eligibility Criteria
· Students who have cleared the 10+2 examination or equivalent are eligible to apply.
· An aggregate of at least 60% marks with Physics, Maths, and Chemistry as subjects is required for admission.
· Students who have appeared for their final year examination may also apply.
· Candidates are required to fulfill the age requirements as mentioned by the board.
· Candidates are expected to submit their original certificates failing which may lead to the cancellation of admission.
· Admission Committee’s decision is regarded as final during the time of admission.
Admission Procedure and Application Form
· Admission entirely depends on the performance of the students or scores obtained in the entrance examination.

6.Bihar Engineering Entrance Exams

You have to appear in the Bihar Engineering Entrance Exams to get admission in a highly recognized Engineering college. Bihar Combined Entrance Examination Competitive Examination (BCECE) is the most common test conducted every year to assess the students like you who are eager to take up Engineering as their career.

Eligibility for BCECE Entrance Exam

· In order to sit for the BCECE Entrance Exam, you have to pass the Inter Exam with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as your major subjects.
· If your parents are natives of Bihar or they reside in Bihar, you are eligible to apply for the exam.
· You can also apply for the exam if your parents are employees of Bihar State Government, Central Government or Public Sector Undertakings of Indian Government.
· You have to be between 17-22 years on July 1 of the year of admission.

Other Important Information Regarding BCECE
· The Entrance Test is generally held in the month of May or June.
· The BCEEE comprises three papers of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths of an hour’s duration each. The question paper has an intermediate standard of questions.
· There is a separate merit list for the students of general and reserved categories.
· If you have scored successfully in the exam, your name will be listed in the state newspapers and colleges.
Reservation of seats
· While 14% of the total seats in the Engineering colleges are reserved for the students belonging to the scheduled caste, 10% of the seats are reserved each for the students of scheduled tribes and other backward classes.
· Two seats in each college of Sindri, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Bhagalpur are reserved for those having a diploma in Engineering.
Some percentage of seats is also reserved for Central Government nominees and the candidates residing in the Union Territories where there is a dearth of engineering colleges.

7.Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences Admission Test-2008

Introduction
The Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences conducts BITS admission Test or BITSAT for admission to its Integrated First Degree Programmes that are offered at its Goa, Pilani, and Hyderabad campuses.

The integrated First-degree Programmes include BE. (Hons), B. Pharm (Hons), MSc. (Hons), Msc. (Tech) degrees. BITSAT is an online Test. A candidate who has passed their 12th standard in 2006 or earlier are not eligible for appearing in BITSAT 2008. In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT 2008, candidates also need to apply to BITS giving details of their 12th exam and giving preferences to different programs offered.

Eligibility criteria for BITSAT 2007
Those who are appearing for the 12th standard are eligible for taking the BITSAT 2008. For admission to the B.E. (Hons) courses, through BITSAT 2008, one needs to have a minimum aggregate of 80 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 60% in each of the subjects.

For admission to the B. Pharm (Hons) and M.Sc. (Hons) Biological Sciences, candidates need to pass the 12th standard with a minimum aggregate of 80 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology and at least 60% in each of the subjects.

Candidates are also expected to have adequate proficiency in English and they would have to decide whether they wish to appear for Mathematics or Biology subject in BITSAT, 2008.

8.Chaudhuri Charan Singh University B.Tech Entrance Test 2007

Chaudhuri Charan Singh University was established in the year 1965. The university has a total of 15 teaching departments, an institute for correspondence courses, a constituent as well as 62 affiliated colleges. Chaudhuri Charan Singh University offers a number of graduate and post-graduate courses in fields ranging from art, law education, science, and commerce.

Chaudhuri Charan Singh University offers B.Tech programs in EC, EI, CS, IT, ME and Agricultural Engineering in the Sir Chhotu Ram Institute Of Engineering and Technology which is a campus Institute of the University. The minimum qualification to appear for EAMCET-2008 is-

1. For admission to the Engineering, B.Pharmacy (M.P.C), B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology) (FS&T), B.Sc (Commercial Agri & Business Mgt) (CA&BM) courses, candidates should have passed or appeared in the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidate enrolled during 2001-2003 and subsequent batches, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.

In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit. In the case of B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (FS&T) and B.Sc (CA & BM) offered in Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates as on 31st December of the year of Admissions.

2. Candidates seeking admission to agricultural and medicine courses through EAMCET 2008 should appear for Biology, Physics and Chemistry in EAMCET-2008 (AM Category).

A. For admission to MBBS/BDS Courses through EAMCET 2008, candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional which shall include a practical test in these subjects, OR any examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects, recognized as equivalent to Intermediate by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad.

Candidates should have completed 17 yrs of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 yrs for all the candidates and 25 yrs in respect of SC/ST candidates as on 31st December of the year of admissions.

·  For admission to B.Pharm Courses through EAMCET 2008, candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology options, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education as equivalent thereto. They should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.

Introduction
The Indian Institutes of Technology are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament. These Institutes play a leading role in technological manpower development and have research programs comparable to the best in the world. The institute is present in Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee.

The admissions to the Undergraduate Programs for all Indian and Foreign nationals at these institutions are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Apart from the seven IITs admission to undergraduate courses of IT-BHU, Varanasi and Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad is also done through the Joint Engineering Entrance Exam.

The pattern of JEE 2008:
Each of the above two question papers would consist of three sections on Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry and the questions will be of the objective type in nature designed to test the comprehension and analytical ability of the candidates. The incorrect answer would attract negative marking.

Candidates called for counseling but desirous of joining the B.Arch. and B.Des. courses will be required to qualify in an Aptitude Test to be conducted at each counseling institute on June 21, 2008. The test will consist of two papers, each of two hours duration – from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, and from 2.00 pm to 4:00 pm. Candidates who fail to qualify in the Aptitude Test will not be eligible for admission to either B.Arch. or B.Des. courses. Question papers for aptitude test for B.Arch and B.Des will be in English only.

Eligibility:
Candidates appearing in (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination in 2007 must secure at least 60% (55% for SC/ST and PD) marks in aggregate in their respective Board Examination.In the case of respective Boards award letter grades, without providing a norm for converting them to equivalent percentage marks, the norms decided by the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE shall be final.A student can have only two attempts to write JEE. Candidates who join any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi, and Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad through IIT JEE – 2007 will not be permitted to appear in JEE in future.

23.Kerala Engineering Entrance Exams
The entrance exam for admission to B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering.) and B.Tech (Dairy Science and Technology), Medical Courses and Architecture courses in Government colleges is conducted through a common entrance examination (CEE). The entrance examination is also known today as Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam. The entrance examination is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala).

Eligibility for Entrance Exam

Candidates who wish to sit for the common entrance examination are required to have passed their higher secondary examination in Kerala or an equivalent recognized examination. Candidates should have attained at least 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics put together. Candidates who have a 3-year Diploma in Engineering and have secured 50% marks in the final diploma examination can also apply for admission.

Candidates who wish to apply for admission to the architecture courses are required to have qualified in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) with a minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/SEBC candidates). Candidates who will be appearing for their higher secondary examination or an equivalent examination or a three-year engineering diploma examination can also sit for the entrance examinations for that particular year. Prospective candidates who plan to sit for the Kerala engineering, architecture, and medical entrance exam are required to satisfy the nativity and age criteria. Relaxation to a certain degree is offered to candidates from socially and educationally backward communities.

24.Maharashtra Engineering Entrance Exams

Eligibility: Indian nationals passed or appearing in the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Maths and English as the subjects at HSC or its equivalent examination and must have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for backward class category candidates from Maharashtra, State only). Outside Maharashtra candidates would be eligible to appear in the MHT-CET but they would be considered for admission to unaided private institutes only.

25.NERIST Entrance Exam for PG Admissions

The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology was established by the Government of India. This institution was at first set up as a project of the North Eastern council, with a view to creating technical manpower at different levels for the advancement of the North Eastern Region in India. M. Tech: Applicants are required to have B. Tech. or an equivalent degree with a CGPA 3.25 on a 5.00 point scale. Candidates can also have 60% aggregate marks for General Category with valid GATE Score. There will be a 5% marks relaxation for applicants in the SC/ST/PH category.

M. Sc. in Forestry: Applicants are required to have 4 years Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry/ Horticulture/ Agriculture with a CGPA 3.25 on a 5.00 point scale or 60% marks in total. Candidates having 3-year B.Sc. degree in Botany and Zoology with CGPA 3.25 or 60% marks are also eligible for admissions to the M. Sc program in Forestry.
