1.Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam

Aligarh Muslim University was established by Syed Ahmed Khan in the year 1875. This Muhammedan Anglo Oriental College gained the status of a full-fledged University in the year 1920. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam is conducted for the admission of students to the MBBS and BDS courses. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam 2008 will be held on 26th May.

Eligibility for AMU Medical Entrance Exam

· Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS and BDS course should have passed the higher secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English.
· Candidates are required to obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate (Chemistry, Biology and Physics taken together) in the entrance examination.
· Candidates should be at least 17 years of age.

Admission Procedure for AMU Medical Entrance Exam

· Application forms for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam 2008 can be obtained both in person and by post.
· Candidates may send a request letter along with a demand draft (Rs.100) drawn in favor of “the Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh”, payable at the State Bank of India, Aligarh Muslim University branch.
· This should be sent to the Assistant Controller (Admissions), Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh 202 002.
· Candidates should also send an envelope with a postage stamp (Rs.90) attached to it.
· The name of the course should be clearly mentioned on the request letter.
· The completed application form along with a demand draft (Rs.475) in favor of “the Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh” should be sent to Admission section, Office of the Controller of Examination and admissions, AMU, Aligarh.

2.All India Pre-Medical Test, AIPMT

If you are determined to pursue medical after your + 2, you must seek admission to the renowned medical colleges and institutes. And All India Pre-Medical Dental Entrance Test, (AIPMT) is one such exam through which one can get admission to some of the best medical colleges in India. This Pre-medical exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

Eligibility for the Entrance Exam

· You must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission. The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years. The SC, ST and OBC students have the privilege of extending the upper limit to some few more years.
· You can appear in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination for a maximum of 3 attempts.
· Apart from passing Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, you must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at the +2 examination. The percentage of marks required drops to 40% for the SC, ST or OBC students.
· If you have appeared in the +2 examination in 2008, you can sit in the entrance test.

Application Procedure for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Examination

· The Information Bulletin and Application Form can be purchased from any of the branches of Canara Bank by paying Rs.400 in cash. The SC/ST candidates can obtain the form on cash payment of Rs.200
· For online application, the application is filled online and the print out is taken.
· You should send the form by Speed Post or Registered Post to Deputy Secretary (AIPMT), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 301.
· The examination fee is paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, payable at Delhi.
· You can obtain the Application Form by Speed /Registered Post by sending a written request with a Bank Draft for Rs.450 for General Category and Rs.250 for SC/ST Category payable to the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi
· The draft has to be furnished with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12″ x 10″.

Entrance Test

· In the Preliminary Examination you have to attend a single paper of 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
· The duration of paper is of 3 hours.
· After qualifying in the Preliminary Examination, you appear for the AIPMT 2008 Final Exam.
· The Final Examination would consist of two papers each of 2 hours duration. Paper-1 – Physics and Chemistry. Paper-2 – Biology (Botany and Zoology).
· You can opt for either English or Hindi question paper.

3.Anamalai University Medical Entrance Exam, Tamil Nadu

The Annamalai University is one of the premier institutes of education in India. It is a residential university that was established in the year 1929. The university was founded by the Honorable Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad.

Anamalai University offers a number of courses and programs for its students. The medical department of Anamalai University offers under graduate and post graduate programs under the departments of medical education and nursing. Department of Medical Education



This department offers under graduate programs of M.B.B.S and B.P.T. The post graduate programs are offered for 18 subjects and post graduate diploma programs are offered in 10 subjects. The department also offers postgraduate degree program in Physiotherapy.

Department of Nursing



This department offers undergraduate degree program in nursing such as B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing as its postgraduate degree program in nursing.

Candidates who wish to apply to these courses are required to sit for an entrance exam conducted by the university. All the above programs are self financed courses.

Eligibility for Entrance Exam



Candidates who wish to appear for the entrance exam are required to have passed their HSC examination with Biology or Botany and Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects. Prospective candidates who will be appearing for their HSC or equivalent qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply for the entrance examination for that current year.

Entrance Exam Criteria



The entrance exam is conducted for 100 marks. Candidates have to further sit for the qualifying exam and the interview round conducted by the university. Admission to the various programs are done solely based on the marks obtained in the examinations and the interviews. The entrance exam includes 2 papers. The first paper includes the subjects of Botany and Zoology while the second paper includes Physics and Chemistry. The entrance exam questions are based on the syllabus of the second year of the Tamil Nadu HSC course.

4.Armed Forces Medical College, AFMC



Armed Forces Medical College Sholapur Road, Pune 411040(Ph 020-26820028, 26306030) (Controlling Authority: Director General Armed Foreces Medical Services, Ministry of University of Health Science, Nasik) (Estd.:1962) (Govt) offers 41/2 years MBBS followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year.


Eligibility: Passed 10+2 Std./Pre-professional/Pre-medical exam. or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in the first attempt with subjects of PCB and English securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the 3 Science subjects taken together, with 50% marks in each of the Science subjects, and not less than 50% marks in English.

The candidates must have also passed an examination in Maths at least of the Matric Std. and passed B.Sc Exam. of an Indian University with not less than two of the subjects PCB (Botany, Zoology). Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination before May can also appear provisionally.

Pattern of Test: Candidates are required to appear in the All India Competitive written test of 2 hrs. duration in subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Intelligence, Logic, Reasoning and English language. Each part comprises of 50 questions of 1 mark each. Std. of the Examination is that of 11th and 12th std. under the 10+2 Scheme/Pre-medical/Isc. or an equivalent examination of an Indian University. Based on the performance in the written test selected candidates are called for interview in the month of June at Pune.


Application Procedure: It can be purchased on payment of requisite charges from the specified General/Head/Central/Main Post offices and it can also be obtained from the Officers in charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Pune 411040 on payment of prescribed charges through Bank Draft on any nationalized bank in favour of the Commandant, AFMC, Pune along with full postal address of the candidate on two separate slips of paper.

5.Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical Entrance Exam

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University conducts All India Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS courses in the following constituent colleges.
1. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune.
2. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Dental College & Hospital, Pune
3. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Ayurveda, Pune.
4. Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune.
In 2008, the BVU common entrance test for admission to the above mentioned courses would be held on 18th of May.

Eligibility: Passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam. (HSC) with at least 50% marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST and pass in English)

For Admission to MBBS/BDS Course: The candidates should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in PCB taken together in the 10+2 (Science) exam or equivalent.

6.Bihar PGMET 2008

Bihar PGMET is conducted by the Private Medical Colleges Association (PMCA) for the admission of students to the post graduate medical diploma or degree courses. The private colleges offering postgraduate medical degrees and diplomas are Katihar Medical College, katihar and Mata Gujri Memorial College and L.S.K. Hospital Kishanganj. Bihar PGMET 2008 will be held on 17th May.

Eligibility 
· The candidate should have a MBBS Degree from any recognized university.
· There is no age limit for the candidates willing to appear for the Bihar PGMET 2008.
· Candidates employed with government or private organizations are required to produce a “no objection certificate” from the concerned organization to sit for the entrance examination.
Bihar PGMET Application Procedure: 
· Candidates may collect the application form in person against a payment of Rs.1500.
· One can also get the application form and brochure by sending a DD of Rs.1550.
· The demand draft should be drawn in favour of “Private Medical Colleges Association, Bihar”
· The draft should be payable at Patna.

Bihar PGMET Test pattern

The exam conducted is of three hours and fifteen minutes duration. The question paper has two portions-Para/Pre Clinical and Clinical. The former consists of 100 questions and the later 150 sections.

9.Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Entrance Test

BHU Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Entrance Test is conducted by the Benaras Hindu University. It is taken for the admission of students to the diploma course in General Nursing and Mid Wifery. BHU Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Entrance Test, 2008 will be held on 27th July.

Eligibility 
· XII Pass or equivalent candidates having at least 45% marks in aggregate with subjects Biology, Chemistry, English and Physics are eligible to apply.
· For SC/ST candidates only 35% marks is required.

11.Islamic Academy of Education Entrance Exam 2007

The Islamic Academy of Education conducts the entrance exam every year for candidates who wish to get admission in the MBBS course of the Yenepoya Medical College and BDS course of the Yenepoya Dental College. Yenepoya Medical College and Yenepoya Dental College are affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi university of Health Sciences. They are also recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The MBBS program offered by the Yenepoya Medical College is a 5 ½ year program. The course also includes a internship that is carried out over a period of 1 year. The BDS program offered by the Yenepoya Dental College is a 5 year program that also includes a 1 year internship. Candidates belonging to the minority community are given preference as per norms at the time of admission to these programs. All candidates have to sit for the Islamic Academy of Education Entrance Exam.

Sr. Education Board or any equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. The Admit Card is sent to you along with the enrolment number only after the receipt of your application.

34.Panjab University Common Entrance Test

The Panjab University conducts the Common Entrance Test for admissions to M.B.B.S, B.D.S, B.A.M.S, B.H.M.S, B.PHARMA, B.A LL.B. (Hons) and B.Sc. (Hons).
